| Make the image you saved in [1-5] active. Select [All] from the [Select] menu to select
the entire image. Then, select [Copy] from the [Edit] menu to copy the image. |

| Make the color image prepared in [2-3] active and select [Paste] from the [Edit] menu.
You can also use [Ctrl]+[V] for pasting. The dot image is pasted onto the color image. On the [Layers] palette,
a new layer is created. |

| Select the [Gradient Tool] from the toolbox. On the [Options] bar, click [Linear Gradient],
click the [Gradient Picker] triangle, and select [Spectrum]. Then, set [Mode] to [Darken]. |

| Drag on the screen from the upper left to the lower right. The dragging angle specifies
the gradient angle. Gradations are applied to the area from the point at which the mouse button is pressed
to the point at which the mouse button is released. Because [Mode] is set to Darken, the black dots remain
after the gradations are applied. If you are not satisfied with the result, go back to the previous status
by pressing [Ctrl] + [Z] and drag again. |

| On the [Layers] palette, change [Blending Mode] to Screen and [Opacity] to 70% for
Layer 1. This layer is well combined with the color image in the background layer. |
