Expanding the number of clips provides a more pleasing ambience. From the toolbox,
select the [Lasso Tool], and encircle a clip. Select the [Move Tool], and drag the selected clip while pressing
the [Alt] key. The clip is duplicated. |

|
 |
Select [Rotate] from [Transform] in the [Edit] menu and rotate the clip around the
bounding box. Do not rotate it too drastically because the angle of the shadow will not look realistic. When
you decide on the angle you want, press the [Enter] key. Repeat [5-1] and [5-2], and increase the number
of clips in different colors to provide the most pleasing ambience. |

The clips already have little shadows. If you increase the shadows, you can give a
greater three-dimensional effect. Make sure that Layer 0 is selected on the [Layers] palette, click [Add
a layer style], and select [Drop Shadow]. In the dialog box that appears, set the sliders as shown below,
and click [OK]. |

To select the background most clearly, white clips are usually not used. However,
you can create white clips by processing clips that are yellow, which is the lightest color that can be used.
Select the [Lasso Tool], and drag and select a yellow clip by encircling it. Select [Desaturation] from [Adjustments]
in the [Image] menu. The yellow color is desaturated, and the yellow clip becomes gray. |

 |
 |
Select Brightness/Contrast from Adjustments in the [Image] menu. In the dialog box
that appears, set the sliders as shown below. Click [OK]. The yellow clip becomes white. Duplicate it, and
scatter the resulting white clips. |

| Scan the clips after arranging them in the shape of letters on the scanner
bed. You can make an interesting logo this way. When arranging the letters, remember that the
scanned image is horizontally reversed from what you see from above. In this case, select [Flip
Canvas Horizontal] from [Rotate Canvas] in the [Image] menu and flip the image. After that,
proceed with the operations introduced here. You can create a background with a texture of
cloth as shown below if you set [Pattern] to Woven (64 by 64 pixels, RGB mode) in the last
procedure. |
