If an image appears to be too strongly lit, the shade and shadow of the image can
be reduced, and problems on the skin such as spots or wrinkles can be hidden.
To hide pigmented spots or wrinkles, lighten the dark part of the image. Do this not only to make the area lighter,
but make the light appear to diffuse softly on the subject. Make the whole image appear as if shining softly. |

Duplicate the background layer of the original image, and blur it. Setting
the blending mode of the blurred layer makes the light appear to be diffuse. In addition, use a filter to
diffuse the reflected light. |

2.Reducing the difference
between light and shade
Again, duplicate the background layer, and apply the [Gaussian Blur] filter. Then, select Multiply
from [Blending mode] the layers palette, and set the [Opacity] to 50%. |

3.Making bright areas lighter
Merge three layers to one layer. Select [Lens Flare] from [Render] in the [Filter] menu. Complete
the image by making the bright areas lighter. |
