| Open an image, such as a favorite photograph, to be modified. From the “Select” menu,
select “All.” Next, from the “Edit” menu, select “Copy.” |

| Display the image “marble” and select “Paste” from the “Edit” menu
in order to combine the two images. Check that the Layers palette shows “marble” as the “Background” layer
and the image you copied and pasted as “Layer 1.” |

| After checking that “Layer 1” is selected in the Layers palette, select “Transform” and
then “Enlarge/Reduce” from the “Edit” menu. Whilst holding down the “Shift” key,
drag the corner of the image to reduce the size of the image. Once you have settled upon a reduced size,
click the “Set current shape” on the Tool Options bar to finalize it. |

| Select the “Move Tool” and position the “people” image in the center. |

| Next it is necessary to move the “Background” layer so that it is on top of “Layer
1.” As the layer cannot be moved whilst it is called “Background,” change the name of the “Background” layer
in order to make this possible. Double click on the “Background” layer in the Layers palette.
Click “OK” on the dialogue box that appears without altering anything. The “Background” layer
will change to “Layer 0.” |

| In the Layers palette, drag “Layer 0” on top of “Layer 1.” The screen
will temporarily be filled with the marble image. |

| Select “Layer 1” in the Layers palette. From the “Select” menu,
select “Read selected area.” In the dialogue box that appears, check that the “Channel” is
set as “Layer 1/transparent area” and that the “Reverse” box is not checked and click
OK. A selected area showing the shape of the “Layer 1” image will be created. |

| Select “Layer 0” in the Layers palette and delete by pressing the “Back
Space” key. A hole will appear in the marble image through which you will be able to see the “people” image.
Leave the selected area as it is. |

| From the “Select” menu, select “Change selected area” and then “Enlarge.” Set “Enlargement” to 100 pixels and click “OK.” Select “Enlarge” from the “Select” menu once again and set the “Enlargement.” Set the “Enlargement” to the desired figure, depending on the resolution of the photo. The “Enlargement” in the example was set to 180 pixels. However, due to the fact that it is only possible to enlarge images by 100 pixels at a time, the example image was enlarged twice – once by 100 pixels and once by 80 pixels. Even if the same values apply, the result will differ from the example depending on the resolution of the photo. It is best to set [Enlargement] at your preferred value. Leave the selected area as it is. |

| From the “Select” menu, select “Reverse selected area.” Press the “Back
Space” key to delete the surrounding marble area and select “None” from the “Select” menu. |
