2. Color the image with the brush tools.

2-1 Create a new layer.
Select the [Layer] menu - [Create] - [Layer]. On the dialog displayed, enter “paint” in the [Layer name] text box and click on the [OK] button.

2-2 Set the drawing mode for Layer paint to [Multiply].
Change the drawing mode for the created Layer “paint” to [Multiply]. This mode is selected for viewing the original image while adding colors to the layer.

2-3 Select the brush tools.
Select [Brush tools] to set the brush size at “Hard round brush 19 pixels” on the tool option bar. To make it easy to view how the image is painted, make sure that the [Opacity] of the brush is set at “100%” on the tool option bar.

2-4 Change the brush size.
Go on to increase the brush size. Open [Brush Preset Picker] on the tool option bar to set [Master Diameter] to a larger size. In the example, [Master Diameter] is set to 50 pixels. Even if the same values apply, the result will differ from the example depending on the resolution of the photo. It is best to set your desired value for [Master Diameter], so that you can retouch the photo easily.

2-5 Set the drawing color.
Select the color that you wish to paint on the image. Freely exercise your own creativity to select whatever colors you like for different parts of the photo to paint the colors.

2-6 Drag to paint the color.
Make sure that Layer “paint” is selected as active on the layer palette, and then drag in the area where you want to paint. Since you set the drawing mode at [Multiply” in Step [2-2], you can see the original image through the layer so that you can paint efficiently.

2-7 Paint colors throughout the image.
Change [Drawing color] to paint one color after another. Don’t worry if the brush runs off the edge a little bit, but fill the image completely with color.
