| You will now open an image to edit. You can use any image for the example. The original
image of the example is a “grayscale” image. In this case, select the [Image] menu - [Mode] -
[RGB color] so that you can add colors to it. If you use a color image, select the [Image] menu - [Mode]
- [Grayscale] to convert it to a monochrome one and set it back to [RGB color]. |

From the Image menu, select Adjust then Hue/Saturation. A dialog appears. Check Colorize. In this example, Hue, Saturation and Lightness are set to 45, 16 and -8 respectively, but you can make settings to create a color tone you like. Finally, click the OK button.
If you change the Hue value in the Hue/Saturation dialog, the color will change.
If you increase the Saturation value, the color looks richer.
If you lower the value, the color looks paler.
If you increase the Lightness value, the color looks brighter. If you lower the value, the color looks darker. |
