| Open the image to be processed. You can use any image for this example. Use your favorite
image. |

| Reduce the image. As the image cannot be reduced while there is a background layer,
change it so it can be edited (in this case, reduced). Double click the background layer in the layers palette.
A dialog appears. Click [OK]. The background layer is then changed to Layer 0. |

| Select [Scale] from [Transform] in the [Edit] menu. The bounding box (a rectangular
box with points on the four corners and four sides) appears around the photo. Adjust the size by dragging
the corner points while pressing the [Shift] key. When you decide on the correct zooming size, click [Commit
Transform] on the [Tool Options] bar, and move the image to the center using the [Move] tool. |

| Select [Load Selected Areas] from the [Selected Areas] menu. A dialog appears. Make
sure that [Channel] is set to [Layer 0 Transparency], and that [Invert] is not checked, then click [OK].
The selected area is created in the image of Layer 0. |

| Select [Layer] from [New] in the [Layer] menu while keeping the target area selected.
A dialog appears. Enter Frame for the name of the layer in [Name] and click [OK]. |

| Select [Draw Boundary] from the [Edit] menu. A dialog appears. Set [Width] to 60 pixels,
[Color] to Black, and [Location] to Outside, then click [OK]. The black edges are created around the image.
Select [Release] from the [Selected Areas] menu. |

| Select [Layer] from [New] in the [Layer] menu, and enter White for the name of the
layer in [Name]. Click [OK]. Select [Fill] from the [Edit] menu. A dialog appears. Set White for [Use] and
click [OK]. |

| Drag the white layer in the layers palette, and move it below Layer 0. The sequence
of the layers from bottom to top is White, Layer 0 and Frame. |
