Information:
Scientific name: Goliathus regius. Goliath beetles are found in tropical regions of Western Africa. Male goliath beetles are 58-115 mm in length; females measure 56-82 mm. These are known to be among the largest beetles in Africa. Generally active in the tops of tall trees, Goliath beetles eat pollen, nectar, and sap.
Goliath beetles tend to be difficult to catch, due to their quickness and their flight capabilities. Using only their hind wings, without spreading their front wings, Goliath beetles are able to fly faster and turn sharper than most other beetles. These unusual beetles are active during the daytime.
