Information:
In Japan, February 3rd is 'Setsubun'. On this day, people scatter toasted beans, crying 'Devils out! Happiness in!'. This is called 'mamemaki' '(scattering beans'). These devil masks are just the job for 'mamemaki'. The person who wears the mask pretends to be a devil and gets pelted with the beans. The meaning of this is to drive out evil and pray for another year of good luck, free from illness and calamity.
Put on a devil mask and have a happy Setsubun!
