| Open the image that you wish to modify. In the example, we are going to use a photograph
of a post with some stickers on it. |

| Let’s try filling the image with fine noise. From the “Filter” menu, select “Pixelate” and
then “Mezzotint.” In the dialogue box that appears, select “Fine dots” as the type
of noise and click “OK” to apply the noise. In the case of small sized images or images with
low resolution, it is probably better to select “Noise” and then “Add noise” from
the “Filter” menu. |

| As the level of noise is too high, select Fade Mezzotint from the Edit menu. A dialog appears. Set the Opacity to 50% and apply it. It is best to set the Opacity to your preferred value while observing the effect of the noise on the screen. This will reduce the effect of the noise created by the Mezzotint. |
