This is a paper craft which features the Milky Way and other symbols of "Tanabata," the Japanese Star Festival. There are seven main types of decorations, each with its own meaning. The "tanzaku" note card symbolizes a wish for improved writing and scholarship. The paper robe is a scapegoat to prevent illness or disasters from affecting us, and also represents a wish for improved needlework skills. The paper crane is a symbol of a wish for a long life, and the drawstring purse asks for improved luck in finances. The cast net represents a wish for prosperous crops or fishing harvests. The wicker basket asks for help with saving money, and the streamers represent Orihime's loom threads. As well as these seven decorations, you can also make bamboo branches, stars, and Orihime and Hikoboshi. Choose whichever parts you like and hang them from the Milky Way, to celebrate the Star Festival.
