Reptiles belonging to the crocodilia order are divided into three families: alligatoridae, crocodylidae and gavialidae. They are mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, and inhabit rivers, lakes, swamps and coastlines. They are known for their long jaws and tail, and the robust scales which cover their bodies. They feed mostly on water-dwelling creatures such as fish, crustaceans and shellfish, or reptiles and mammals in their habitat. In the water, they keep their legs close to their bodies, and propel themselves smoothly through the water byundulating their bodies and swinging their tails from side to side. On land, they are often seen basking in the sun with their jaws wide open, in order to adjust body temperature. This paper craft model is based on the Nile crocodile. The jaws and body are movable, so have fun snapping its mouth open and closed, and wiggling its body from side to side! There are also optional parts which you can attach as you like, to make your crocodile look even more realistic.
