A Dalecarlian horse is a traditional Swedish craftwork carved from wood. Although they were originally used as children's toys, the horses eventually created an industry to support people financially. Their name comes from the Swedish province Dalarna where they were often made. Known for their hand painted designs and the warm feeling of their wood, they are popular around the world, as "luck-bringing horses."
