Tachiwaki-mon is an original chiyogami pattern consisting of opposing wavy lines that appear to billow in and out. The spaces between the lines are decorated with cloud patterns. The pattern is called "tachiwaki" or "tatewaki", which refers to the way in which the wavy lines appear to resemble clouds of steam rising from hot water.
