[53 Stations of Tokaido - Kanbara] The 53 Stations of Tokaido were originally published as ukiyoe pictures of landscapes and inns as observed by Hiroshige when he travelled while accompanying an official delegation from the Edo government to present horses to the Imperial court in Kyoto. This beautiful work depicts a landscape of silently falling snow.
